How to remove the blue glow around input and textarea

I just spent 1/2 an hour looking for a walkthrough or a helpful form on how to remove/edit that annoying blue glow around the text field (input and textarea).

Well that lovely little effect is called the "focus". So now that I now what it is called I can make it do whatever I want.

In this particular case I just want to remove the "focus" altogether, so this is what my css needed to look like:

:focus {
      outline:0;
      outline:none;
}

But I could have done a number of different effects. I personally like the dotted effect:

:focus {
      outline:1;
      outline: dotted;
}

It all depends on how you want your form to look, so experiment with it.

Local Photographers

Here are some of my favourite local photographers, local being BC canada + 1 Alberta photographer. I have worked with about 99% of these fine people. They are all so easy to get along with - plus their art speaks for itself.

The first 4 photographers have more of a vintage style to their shots, where the last 2 have a bright crisp shot. I love them all, so have a look at each of their sites and let me know what you think too.

How to stitch multiple .pdf s together on a mac computer

This post will show you how you can make a .pdf booklet of your photos. You can use this technique to make things like a pricing booklet, and email it all at once. The first part will go over how to turn your images into .pdf and the second part will explain how to stitch the .pdf s together.

Part 1
     1. Start with a folder of all of the photos you want to stitch together.

     2. Highlight all of the photos with your mouse

     3. Right click and go "Open With > Preview

     4. Now select all of the photos in the viewer
     5. File > Export Selected Images

     5. Change to format from "JPEG" to PDF

Part 2

     7. Highlight all of the .pdf s with your mouse
     8. Right click and go "Open With > Preview
     9. Select all of the photos – except the first one
    10. Drag the other photos over the first one and let go (plus symbol)
    11. Now you will see an arrow beside the top photo – click that to expand the files

    12. From this point you can re-order your photos by dragging them up or down
    13. Once you are happy with the order you can go File > Export
    14. Save your new stitched .pdf because you are DONE

currently...personal comes last

...yeah so it's a year and 3 months later...hey some consider this current. The truth is that since I have become a freelancer I haven't had oodles of time for my own personal marketing. I know the benefits of "making" time but this is about it. I have however started to tweet a bit-you can follow me here: (twitter.com/imajendesigns). It really is a quick and easy way to get some design headlines and to check-up on some people.

The biggest change in my marketing has been my logo re-design/overhaul. I wanted to try and help out the name "Imajendesigns" by adding some imagery-the thought bubble aka imagination. I wanted to keep the ink splatter idea, but I needed the logo to me more legible and easier to layout.

I personally love the contrast between the attention grabbing pink/purple against the black-but what do you think?

You can email me your comments here.

To a new year, and a new site

Another 365 days have past by and I have learned a few hard lessons as mile markers. I hope that this new site will pull me through another year or so, but when you design for yourself…well we all know what it’s like to design for ourselves. I hope to keep this new version of imajendesigns updated, or at least up. Since I switched hosting I haven’t moved over the files, and I thought that it was a perfect time to change things up anyway.

Kelowna has had a ridiculous amount of snow dropped on us since the 13th. I guess some people were wishing a little too hard for a white Christmas, because now you can’t see anything but white.

I really want to be able to update this site and keep everything current enough that I can just make subtle changed in the future. So if you find that I haven’t changed something in a while; not to worry, because I’m working on some great things that will defiantly knock your Sponge Bob socks off.

Well I won’t fill up this entry with anymore boring talk about the weather; just wanted to say “Happy New Year”(© Hallmark), and I hope everyone likes the new site.
